Long Lead Times for Fibre

I recently relocated to a new apartment in Green Point. I app**** for Fibre from Cybersmart (the apartment block's selected provider) and received an order number and notification that my order was in progress. This morning I contacted them and was informed that the waiting period is 6 weeks and that they would contact me closer to the time with an installation date. This is in stark contrast to my previous provider in the same area (MWEB), where the wireless router was delivered and my fibre up and running within a week. My current apartment is in a newish block, with existing fibre infrastructure, and the previous Tennant was (according to my knowledge) an existing client of Cybersmart. I would therefore advise potential customers of Cybersmart (where they have a choice of provider) to choose a provider that has shorter waiting period - especially if they, like myself, are dependant on internet to work from home - as Cybersmart is seemingly unable to role out fibre to new customers in a timeous manner.

Reviewer Update
Update on my complaint: I have been informed by Cybersmart that I can expect installation on the 15th of September, 2018, (in four weeks' time) and that the reason for the long lead times are they they do not have stock of Fibre routers. This is unacceptable. Consumers should, where they are given a choice of provider, opt for a supplier that has shorter lead times.
