Based on recent customer reviews, Cybersmart is drawing significant criticism from customers who report prolonged service outages, unresponsive support channels, and a lack of proactive communication during downtime. A recurring theme involves billing and accounts disputes, including unwarranted website suspensions despite proof of payment, and difficulties setting up debit orders. Customers consistently mention struggles to escalate issues to management and unfulfilled promises of technician callbacks. On a more positive note, individual agents occasionally receive praise for quick, attentive troubleshooting, suggesting that pockets of strong service exist within an otherwise frustrating experience.

Cybersmart: Apparently, If You Complain, You Must Be Making It All Up
Well, apparently my complaint was a problem for Cybersmart. After I posted a negative review about my experience with their internet service and customer support, Cybersmart challenged my complaint with HelloPeter because I had not provided sufficient evidence. My complaint was subsequently removed. So, yes, Cybersmart. I must have imagined it all. I imagined the poor internet connection. I imagined trying to contact customer service and getting no answer. I imagined the frustration, the repeated problems and the negative experience that led me to complain in the first place. Clearly, none of it happened. If there is no evidence attached to a review, apparently the customer's experience is simply a work of fiction. But what makes this situation particularly concerning is how Cybersmart chose to respond. Rather than simply addressing my concerns about its service, the company brought a private WhatsApp conversation into its public response on HelloPeter. Let that sink in: a customer raises concerns about a paid service, and a private conversation becomes part of a public dispute over that customer's credibility. I found the response dismissive and deeply concerning. Instead of meaningfully addressing my experience, it felt as though the focus shifted to discrediting my complaint and making me look unreasonable for raising it. A warning to prospective customers: when choosing an internet service provider, you are not just buying connectivity. You are also trusting the company to handle problems professionally, communicate respectfully and take complaints seriously. My experience has left me questioning whether Cybersmart meets those expectations. Customers should be able to report poor service without feeling that they must prepare a legal case just to have their experience taken seriously. And when a company responds publicly to criticism, I believe it should address the actual service issues rather than turn the customer into the issue. Cybersmart, perhaps my internet connection was imaginary. Perhaps my unanswered calls were imaginary, too. Perhaps all my complaints simply materialised out of thin air. Or perhaps a customer had a genuinely bad experience and wanted the company to address it. Future customers can decide for themselves what this experience says about Cybersmart.

Cybersmart | Reliable Connectivity Makes a Real Difference
Cybersmart's generous provision of dependable fibre to The Service Dining Rooms is a transformative contribution to our non-profit's operations. Online, day-to-day communications are critical to our organisation, particularly in terms of fundraising and donor-relations.

No customer service department
So disappointed and frustrated with Cybersmart. Half the time my emails are down, and the only way to reach them is through WhatsApp. Most of the time you get someone named Priya, who will not be helpful or will leave you hanging with no response and then the chat gets closed. How do they not have an efficient customer service department that you can actually CALL?!

DO NOT USE THIS ISP.
0/10 service, reliability and overall rating. Do not use this ISP. I would not recommend this ISP at all. It was a rocky start from day one, with constant internet problems and my connection being down for over a week right after I signed up. I have now tried to do a change of ownership, as I am moving out but the other tenant is staying. Instead they are forcing me to cancel completely so they can charge a fresh R399 activation fee on the new account. This is a recent internal change they have made, and to me it is ridiculous. A change of ownership should be straightforward. On top of that, when I tried to sort it out through their WhatsApp support line, the person handling it kept pushing the activation fee and would not listen. I had to ask to speak to a manager multiple times before anything happened. I then got a call from someone named Bianca who clearly does not understand the basics of client service. She did not acknowledge my frustration once and became hostile on the call. After all of that I am still none the wiser about what is actually happening with my account. There are over 200 ISPs in this country and this is the absolute last one I would consider.

Poor Service
Useless company. When you have an issue you have to contact them via WhatsApp. You cannot speak to a technician and in my case they took 13 minutes and ended the chat. Then they asked if they assisted me. To avoid frustration don't enlist them as a service provider.
