Non-Existent connection and more...

I've reached the end of my proverbial rope at this point.

I decided to move my line away from Cool Ideas in August, gave them my 1 month cancellation notice and immediately app**** with Bitco.

Initially everything went fine, once installation was completed everything worked perfectly... But wait... There's a catch.

I run a private minecraft server on my pc... I've never had any issues forwarding ports on routers with dynamic IP's from and ISP I've ever used. Until now that is...

Login to the provided router, and run the port forwarding as I've always done. No go.

Contact support for assistance and I get told that I require a static IP to do port forwarding. This is the first time I've ever heard that I need a static IP from my ISP to do something so simple.

Now fair enough, if a static IP is required, I should request one... But I did on my initial application!!!

So now, I'm sitting with a router that I cannot do port forwarding on, and a static IP that I'm still waiting on. But wait, it gets worse...

On Wednesday 11 September my line is dead. Contact support to try and resolve the issue but goes unresolved.

I call SADV, where they confirm (and they've confirmed via the Bitco ticket) that the line is working as it should be.

I can't quite understand how support can't identify the issue, but yet when I look through the router logs, I identify that the line isn't authenticating with the PPPoE information provided.

When I reset the router back to guest login for Bitco, I get the limited access provided to guest accounts which again reaffirms the fact that the Fibre line in itself is WORKING!!!

I call back and advise a new agent that this is the issue. All I want is for the PPPoE details to be tested, or to be provided a test account to prove that this is in fact the issue. However, only the technical department can provide this.

So here I am, on a weekend, with no internet due to the fact that.

A) The support staff are *********** at identifying actual issues that aren't scripted. B) People promise to call me back but never do and if they do, and heaven help I miss the call, I will never hear back again. C) Bitco doesn't care!!! as long as I pay the bill for something that doesn't work of course...

What makes this all worse, is that I know, even when the internet is sorted, I still won't be able to host the server due to technical issues around the installation and the pillars and posts I have to jump through to sort this issue is tiring.

All I want is a working line, the static IP I ordered, and the ability to forward the ports on the router.

I really want this relationship with Bitco to work, because the connection (when it existed) was superior to Cool Ideas in every way. However, I would rather pay a company with intermittent issues than a service that's non-existent.

I'm tired.
