Do not use BitCo - Without Prejudice

BitCo Fibre is an acclaimed ISP not worthy of the word, They are absolutely useless as they make promises that cannot be kept.

Timeline of events: 1 March 2021 - I ordered Fibre via their web portal on 1 and was sent an email for confirmation of address and ID. I sent everything through as requested.

3 March 2021 - I phoned their call centre to confirm that everything that was sent was received, but they just said that what I send should be fine. The lady confirmed that it takes between 2 and 3 working days to get fibre, but 5 days if there are issues with line transfer from another ISP. I stated that there is already fibre in the house and I even sent pictures of the devices (ONT and Fibre connection box)

5 March 2021 - I phoned again to hear what is happening and they were unable to help because "Openserve is a hard company to deal with and it is up to them to release/open the line"

8 March 2021 - I phoned to follow up, still the same issue and explanations. I was contacted later the day, and then I had to send my proof of address and ID. This is probably because nothing happened until then and they only started the process again...

9 - 14 March 2021 - Nothing happened and I phoned almost daily to follow up, but still no progress.

15 March 2021 - I gave them until 17:00 to sort it out, and then I would cancel everything and just go with another ISP. 17:00 came and gone, no progress.

16 March 2021 - I sent an email to cancel the order and stated that they should make sure to cancel everything because I need to get another ISP involved. I contacted Afrihost to get fibre. Then all of the sudden, Openserve wants to connect the line and Bitco now has trouble cancelling the line....

So it takes then 2 weeks to find their feet, and now they cant cancel the line.

Summary of BitCo service: You will be frustrated by their call centre, as no-one there can actually help you. They will not call you back, ever until you phone them constantly! They cannot get the necessary done to provide their service, which is an ISP - They have none of the things that make them an ISP. No internet, No service and No Provision... They keep making up stories about how bad it is to deal with Openserve, but how do other ISPs do it then. There is a general lack of communication, no automated emails to inform you where you are in the process. This is like dealing with an SOE!

This is still not resolved!

Openserve still has an order placed on this which has to be cancelled by Bitco as the request was made by you

There is then obviously a difference between your system, which shows it is cancelled and what was done at Openserve. You cannot just send the request and claim it is done. I as consumer is now left picking up the pieces and trying to get my internet sorted. If I cannot apply for a new line because there is an existing order, how is your job done then?

Good day Dirk,

- Please note that you placed an order on the 1st of March 2021, without RICA supporting documents
- We received your documents on the 8th of March 2021
- Your order was processed and placed with the Fibre Network Operator on the 9th of March
- On the 10th of March your order was with the accounts team to review documents
- On the 11th of March your order was received by the projects team for provisioning and waited for Openserve to activate the switch as well as configuration
- Please note that we only work Mon – Fri between 8 – 5pm, this means that on the 15th the projects team advised on the progress of your order and you requested for a cancellation.
- You sent a cancellation request to *** on the 16th of March which was actioned accordingly
- Openserve advised that this has been received and completed
- We have now followed up with Openserve once again and they have advised that this should be resolved now, if not then your current ISP should try placing an order later again as the cancellation of the order has been completed. We have also provided relevant proof as per your request.

Thank you for your patience regarding this matter, we do extend our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Kind regards

Best regards,

DC

I submitted the online application on the 1st of March following an email request to submit it. You can check Matumelo’s email as I forwarded the initial email, sent on the 1st. The fact is that you missed it for 7days and trying to cover up that fact, either through ignorance or blatant lies. Apparently the calls are recorded and you can review the 20plus times I phoned your call centre enquiring about this.
