“Cut the plug, a nightmare unleashed: Bitco & DFA”

In an era where connectivity is no longer a luxury but a necessity, I find myself compelled to share the harrowing journey with both Bitco Telecoms and DFA, lest any consumer, individual or business dare choose or unwittingly fall upon their ‘services’. This experience has been nothing short of a technological horror story, I hope that by sharing this ordeal, the unsuspecting few may be spared the same fate. Bitco was introduced with the promise of not only high-speed internet, uninterrupted connectivity, seamless streaming, but also, exceptional customer care and relations- what an unbelievable fallacy! What followed, can only be described as a sequence of disappointments, delays, frustrations, countless emails and back-and-forth phone calls, laborious hours wasted with their ‘customer services’ department, ‘project management’ team and occasionally- if I was lucky- a superior. The process began late last year, we were promised to be up and running with high-speed fibre within a three-month period. . . soon after, came the delays. Initially, the frustration was directed at our initial ‘appointed project lead’, why? She had, no less than three months, left the company, without warning, without communications, and without a formal handover- our company was completely in the dark. Abating my annoyance and moving forward, I, contacted¸ THEM¸ to understand where in the process we were, only to find, more delays, this time on account of DFA lockdown. (Only for the sake of the reader) I will try being as succinct as possible, there have been more than 6 postponements, it has been nearly an entire year, and we still DO NOT have fibre, nor could we be provided an interim solution. Not only is this an abomination of technological solutions, but it is also the worst service, communication and support I and my company have and has ever received. I would also like to make it very clear that I have made several attempts not to ‘name and shame’, that I have addressed these issues to tedium, but that it must come to point wherein one actually needs expose such shameful ineptitude. Sadly, to date, I still have yet to receive a direct response from a manager, despite my efforts. If there are any reliable, and GENUINELY promising ISPs out there who could resolve our issues with fibre/connectivity, I implore you to contact me.

Good Afternoon Charlotte,

We understand that your recent experience with our delivery service has been less than ideal. We want to assure you that this is not our usual standard of service. Unfortunately, we have been facing delays in our deliveries due to ongoing rehabilitation work in the area, and despite our best efforts, we were unable to secure an earlier delivery date from the Fibre Network Operator (FNO).
We appreciate your feedback and want you to know that all of your concerns will be thoroughly addressed. Your satisfaction is of utmost importance to us, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience you may have faced up to this point.

Please rest assured that we are actively working with the FNO to improve our service delivery lead times and prevent such delays in the future. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as we strive to provide you with a better experience moving forward.

Kind Regards

Vanee Balli
