Two months to terminate a service

I requested the service to be terminated on the 1st of August before 8:00 the morning. Axxess is only willing to terminate the service at the end of September - since according to them, if I had send the email 8 hours before at midnight, the service would be terminated the end of August but they need one full calender month notice. What difference would it make if I have send the email on the 31st of July at 23:59, or the 1st of August at 7:57 - they would in any case not read it before the working day started.
