Be care full with Axxess DSL domain registration!

The following clause in the Terms & Conditions of Axxess DSL directly violates the ZACR Terms & Conditions.

No registrar/domain reseller may impose such clause as the ZACR Terms and Conditions is clear in section 5, that these WhoIs details should be that of the registrant and not that of the registrar. In light of the Terms & Conditions of the ZACR Registry, Axxess DSL have no right whatsoever to register client domains as per below terms and conditions. Furthermore Axxess DSL does not offer the client/reseller ANY CHOICE whatsoever to choose a FREE domain with below terms & conditions or a paid domain – I strongly believe that the client should have a choice in this matter when registering a domain and order web hosting with Axxess DSL – There is NO OTHER choice on the Axxess DSL web site but to take and accept “The free .co.za domain registration” and therefore the client is “FORCED” into these ridiculous terms and conditions as this is the ONLY choice provided to any Axxess DSL client.

Furthermore to the below “Terms & Conditions” of Axxess it clearly indicates free .co.za domain registration, however it is very clear that the domain registration is not FREE at all as the client will be billed for it anyways after 10 months or in the event that the client wishes to transfer the domain or cancel the domain. Therefore the client is misled by Axxess DSL’s web site, advertising and their terms & conditions.

This a violation in terms of ZACR Registry that states that no registrar may bring any client under the impression that the domain is “lockedin” and therefore the domain is kept “hostage”

Please note: The free .co.za domain registration is only applicable if you select a domain with a Linux or Windows shared hosting package. This offer does not apply to our parked domain or self managed hosting packages. After 10 months, you will be billed for the annual renewal of your domain, should you decide to retain the domain. Should you wish to cancel or transfer your domain away from Axxess during the first 10 months of service, you will be invoiced for the registration originally covered by Axxess, the cancellation/transfer will only take place once this invoice has been paid.
