Axxess does not honour its AUP
My 10mb/s line has been 'managed' for the past 3 days despite my usage being well below the monthly threshold of 120GB and 7 day threshold of 30GB (I was told that 30GB is the 7 day threshold over the phone - it does not say this explicitly in the AUP). My current 7 day usage is 21GB. I am experiencing internet speeds of 5mb/s. I phoned Axxess twice, which resulted in lengthy hold periods where a supervisor was consulted. The first time, I was told I would be contacted by email the next day to resolve the matter. The 2nd time I called (24 hours later), I was informed that I would be contacted within an hour over the phone. On both occasions, I heard nothing further, and my internet speed remains throttled. I have now also racked up a cell phone bill of R150 just trying to resolve this. It seems clear that Axxess chooses to 'manage' internet speeds well below the threshold limits specified in its AUP. I am in the unfortunate position of having recommended Axxess to a number of friends and family members and am now wondering if it will be necessary for me to advise them to discontinue their service with Axxess. To put things into perspective, I could be paying R160 less per month for a service from Axxess that is a similar speed to my 'managed' internet speed. Before now, I had always experienced efficient and helpful service from Axxess (a client of 3 years). It is very unfortunate that customer service has deteriorated as this was the reason I chose to engage their services.
