I am relocating at 1 June 2020 to a new place. Due to the lockdown regulations it was impossible to give a 30 day notice as required, as the lockdown were obviously unforeseen circumstances.

Only on 7th May the government informed the country that we are allowed to move house and only last week, my future landlord informed me that the tenant found a place again and that I can move in on 1 June, therefore I could only cancelled my current service this past week. It was literally impossible to do it 30 days in advance as the lockdown created a lot of uncer*****y and I was suppose to move 1 April 2020 already, however due to the lockdown, I could not (I was not an Axxess client yet on 1 April 2020).

Furthermore once I became an axxess client a month and a half ago, all my lines and modems were already installed before hand, nobody had to come to my house, it was already installed a couple of years ago by my previous supplier, Telkom, so nothing in my house belongs to Axxess or comes from Axxess, so I don't see why I am being charged the R 999, when I will still use Axxess as a provider, only at the new place and since I don't even use axxess' modems and that no one was even required to come to my house to install it. Like I said Fibre was already installed a couple of years ago and when I ordered Axxess they just activated Openserve on my already existing fibre line and modems within a day. There was literally no costs during the installation phase as everything was already done(I am talking about petrol costs, labour costs etc, as I know installation is "free").

What is even more outrageous is, that after speaking to the accounts department I will have to pay for the month of June, for a service that I am not going to get? Like I said if it was normal circumstances I have no problem with it and I will pay it as I understand the 30-day rule, however the lockdown was outside of everyone's control, I did not create the lockdown, if there was no lockdown I would have in the first place only installed Axxess at my new place as I cancelled my internet in advance with Telkom as I was suppose to relocate on 1 April 2020, and I would definitely have cancelled more than 30 days in advance if there was no lockdown and if I have been with Axxess previously. Surely rules has to be amended for unforeseen national disaster circumstances like we are currently in and to persist with the 30-day rule in my circumstances is just totally irrational as this whole issue was dependent on the government's decisions. I am definitely not going to pay for a service in June that I am not going to get next month if this is the case as I will not even be at that house anymore.

The accounts department came back to me at said unfortunately this is the policies and procedures. This is absolutely ridiculous.
