Throttled Without Warning

On Friday I received an email from Amobia stating:

"From the 15th of December 2017 to the 15th of January 2018, our Acceptable User Policy (AUP) will be lifted between 12am and 7am each day."

When I logged on today, I found my internet barely running. I phoned in and was told that I had been throttled and this is despite being told previously that we would receive a warning email telling us that we are reaching the throttle limit.

According to their policy (http://www.amobia.com/aup.html):

"Depending on your usage pattern, you will be placed under (or taken out of) the AUP throttling, and a notification will be sent to your email address."

So no warning was sent or any notifications, but we have also been throttled down to a 400kb line instead of 1mb.

When phoning in to complain about the throttle, I was told that "lifting the AUP would only be happening from tonight" with "tonight" being the 17 of December instead of the 15th. Having worked out our usage we found that we were still 6 gigs under the throttle limit taking that they were meant to of lifted the AUP from the 15th.

When confronted with this, the service provider simply said that "we don't know" and "will have to get back to you".

This isn't the first time that we have received poor service from Amobia as they continue to make strides in providing poor service and misinformation.
