I have been back and forth with Amobia and no problem is being solved. They are ripping me of for month's. Have to pay R850 for a 200/200 Line speed with a connected cable and i don't get the capacity of a 200/200 Line. What a disaster of a Service provider!!!!!!

 Good day Mr. Marshall,

Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention. We have reviewed the matter with our support team and would like to provide the following explanation:

The download speed you experience when retrieving a game such as Call of Duty: Black Ops does not directly reflect your internet connection’s maximum capability. Several external factors beyond your our advertised speed can influence this.
-Game Server Limitations:

Gaming servers often cap download speeds to manage traffic and ensure fair distribution among millions of users.

During peak periods (e.g., major updates or new releases), server congestion can significantly reduce individual download speeds.
-Network Routing and Latency:

Your data travels through multiple network hops before reaching the game server. Any congestion or inefficiency along the route can slow transfers.
-Content Delivery Network (CDN) Location:

Games use CDNs to distribute files globally. If the nearest CDN node is overloaded or geographically distant, download speeds will drop.
-Game Client Behavior:

Download managers in gaming platforms often split files into chunks and verify them, which can slow the process compared to a raw speed test.

In short, speed tests measure your maximum potential bandwidth under ideal conditions. Downloading from a gaming server introduces variables such as server-side limits, network congestion, and local factors—making observed speeds lower than your actual achievable speed.
