Amobia Communications Service Delivery and Cancellation System

I've experienced many complications with this Internet Service Provider. The main problem is their avaliability of Internet. Just this morning at 09:35 I could not access the Internet. I checked my email to see if any notice was given for this but nothing. I called the support agent of Amobia, at 09:43, using my cellphone, as the Amobia telephone says "Not Reg." (It did this by itself) so I cannot use it to call Amobia for free but instead have to use my airtime. I was told that my unit and the neighbouring unit's Internet is down due to loss of energy supply to Amobia's equipment and that someone will attend to restore it. That someone, from PEC utility management, got to the site at 11:35 only and restored the Internet. This is not the first time I've experienced the Internet being down. In fact at least twice a month Amobia's Internet service is down and I have to call in, using my cellphone, to find out what the issue is. I cannot understand why redundant infrastructure is not in place to improve this poor availability and reliability. Is continuity of Internet supply not supposed to be of top priority? I also cannot understand why no notice is given when such events occur so that I do not have to waste my airtime to call in. That is what I call poor service delivery.

I would not recommend Amobia Communications as a choice of an Internet Service Provider. Yes, they are more affordable but maybe these are some of the reasons why.

Another issue I have is their cancellation system. According to Amobia, one full calenders month notice is to be given for cancellations. Now I'm no lawyer and understand that as 30 days notice because "one full calenders month" was not defined by dates such as 1st July - 31st July. So on the 10th of July I gave notice to cancel my account (this is the day my new lease agreement was approved since I did not want to cancel the Internet until the new lease was approved). However, I will be vacating the flat on the 31st July 2018 yet Amobia Communications expects me to pay the full amount for Internet for August 2018 because I did not give notice on the 1st July 2018. My issue is that, I won't be living in the flat to use any of Amobia's data (200GB at 20/10 mbps) so Amobia expects me to pay for nothing! Also, they do not do pro rata billing but that shouldn't be my problem. Pro rata billing is made for instances like this and it's poor to not have such measures in place as all cancellations simply cannot be done like they would want. Customers are limited and is yet another reason why you should not choose Amobia as an Internet Service Provider (to potential customers reading this).

I've called the accounts department to try and negotiate this madness of paying for no product. I was told I would have to pay regardless. So I wanted to speak to someone with a higher authority. Someone from Amobia then contacted me and said the accounts manager would call the following day, he/she did not. I called again to try and speak to the accounts manager but he was not available and the person who I was talking to read that on my account it said, "accounts manager to call the following day". She noted this and told me that she will let him know and he would call the following day, he did not. Yet again, more displays of poor service and more airtime spent on my part.

I am not a happy customer and regret applying to Amobia Communications as an Internet Service Provider.
