Horrible experience from ALPHA PHARM MEDI MARL TONGAAT. been using them for over 20 years and I have seen the company deteriorate, they now employ foreigners to do deliveries who probably are *******ly working here plus they not those humble foreign guys, they act as if we ow them something, show up to deliver stuff anytime they feel like and hoot for over 10 seconds at a time and my elderly parents must run to them, they also have terrible attitudes arguing with my parents, when I tried to speak to Suren, I was told he is busy, it's been almost two hours and he didn't take 5 minutes to return my call. What a disgrace to the Alpha Pharmacy group.

Hello Peter Complaint: Poor Customer Service at Alpha Pharmacy – Protea Glen I would like to formally lodge a complaint regarding the ongoing poor customer service at Alpha Pharmacy in Protea Glen. The service levels have deteriorated to a point where it has become extremely difficult to resolve even basic queries, and this has now been an unresolved issue for almost three months. Despite raising the same concern repeatedly, the staff continue to refuse to assist appropriately. They decline to provide an email address or contact number for submitting complaints, making the escalation process unnecessarily difficult. In particular, William and Phakama have demonstrated unprofessional behaviour on several occasions. When faced with routine questions or follow‑ups, they abruptly end calls instead of assisting or escalating the matter correctly. Hanging up on customers is unacceptable and reflects a lack of customer‑service training and professionalism. The core issue remains unresolved for the third month: The pharmacy refuses to submit an account to the correct and active medical aid, stating that they require authorisation from a manager before doing so. This has caused unnecessary delays and frustration, even though the correct medical aid details have already been provided multiple times. I am requesting that this matter be addressed urgently, and that the staff receive proper customer‑service training or refresher training, as the current level of service is far below what customers should expect from a healthcare provider. I hope Alpha Pharmacy management will treat this complaint with the seriousness it deserves and take corrective action.

To say I am shocked would be an understatement. On 16 March 2026, I walked into the Alpha Pharm Mid-Chem pharmacy for assistance after my Dr's appointment. This was shortly after 5pm. I handed my script to one of the assistants and to which she came back to me less than a minute later stating that Disocvery has rejected the entire claim. This to me was strange because, my Dr and I went through the medicine formulary and we discussed in detail which medications will be covered as such, it shouldn't have been a problem. Nonetheless, I was turned away. The following morning I called Discovery for them to tell me why the medications were rejected all for Discovery to tell me, that the claims weren't ven put through for it to be rejected. That under ylmy profile, no such claims reflect and the pharmacy didn't attempt to claim the medications that were prescribed. I subsequently went to a Clicks pharmacy which was much further away and I ended up getting ALL my medications as prescribed. When I returned to the pharmacy to confirm why they did not submit the claim, resulting in me spending the night with no medication and in pain, their response was: their pharmacy is not contracted with the Keycare Plus plan on Discovery, which in itself is a lie because I have received other medications before from this pharmacy but yesterday- they just refused to bother to check. I further mentioned that, the address they have on system is over a year old and I've since moved. There was not even an offer to update it to my current address. It's those kind of basic things that leave one with a bad taste and I will NEVER visit Alpha-Pharm Mid Chem pharmacy again. No one could give me a good reason as to why I had to spend the night in pain without medication when I'd come to the pharmacy to receive help and got nothing.

Alpha pharm Muron Pharmacy and clinic 110a Fischer Straat Worcester 6850 Major disappointment & a financial *******. After coming from a registered local private clinic in Worcester after my paid consultation the nurse provided me with a one months valid prescription for a prescribed tablet also stating I need to come back for a full blood test so that she can recommend me to doctors she works with in order for a longer period prescription in which I agreed fully . After inspection The nurse then directed me to this pharmacy for the tablet after she has communicated with the pharmacy I then drove there to get my subscribed medication. On arrival I presented the valid subscription to the Pharmasist. He then explained to me this is not a valid subscription but however he can help me. I was totally confused and alarmed I told him I was at the clinic and the lady called and confirmed with you my medication and use agreed His responce was yes …she but however this is not valid subscription as she’s not a doctor but I can help with this medication but at a higher price immediately Alarm bells going off in my head I then rep**** I’m confused why at a higher price if I followed correct protocols …he then explains I can give it to u under the counter me being now totally confused and alarmed and needing my tablet I say okay how much thinking this whole things sounds off he says 450rand I responded why that rediculous price for a tablet I usually pay around R150 for at any pharmacy …me being desprite I take the tablet and pay in which I have bank statement to prove my purchase. After leaving the pharmacy… I call the clinic immediately Me being disturbed I explain what has happen. Before ending my call with her I said this whole thing sounds highly *******. I even told the pharmacy if I knew all this I would of not gone to the clinic Rounding up the whole senario and my experience the current sister is not registered to give me the medication I needed in which I totally did not know in which she could of told me in the first place she’s doesn’t have the authority to give to me the sleeping tablets and other tablets Telling me to go to a doctor I would have totally understood and not waste money and resources. If I knew all this undercounter dealings I would of not gone to the clinic paying and recieving a prescription that won’t be valid at any pharmacy only to her prescribed pharmacy and being charged over 150% more for a tablet this is totally disturbing not knowing what organisation to trust these days. In total I paid clinic fees and pharmacy fees today was 700 rand in which I could of just paid a registered doctor these fees and get a 3 months valid prescription at any pharmacy for the right prices and not ***** business I’m and honest citizen with all the right intentions and getting ripped of this way 🥺🥺I don’t know who to trust these days. I don’t intend to do any harm to this local business but over charging more than 150% is totally uncalled for🥺
