Why am I paying for a service I didn't even get to enjoy

I'm c0nvinced you guys collect our money for nothing, how is it that I have to pay for a full month and yet I was disconnected so essentially what you guys are telling is that even if my service was disconnected for the month of June for no payment, I must still pay for both July again?! Meaning I'm paying for the month of June whether I got the service or not, please make it make sense to me, also you charging me R50 to tell me I owe you, what's up with that?
