I'm shocked. I've been an afrihost fan for years - They used to get back to me with any query I had in minutes, if not then at least the same day. I've used their mobile data for years wihtout any problem.

One day, I had no internet connection, I figured it was just a once off, plus I had wifi at home so I ignored it. A few weeks later I checked again, no mobile data connection. Seeing as I didn't need it and it wasn't working, I cancelled it. This was in april, but of course, they only canel it the following month, which is now May which means I still had to pay in full for May. This month I really needed mobile data so I contacted their support team to try and fix it.

In the support ticket I specify that I am using the APN "afrihost" for the mobile connection as they have instructed me to do.

While when I submitted my request for support, a day later I was emailed by Thamsanqa N, who simply asks

"Please provide us with the make and model of your device."

I reply with the following:

"I am not using a device like a modem or a ****le to connect, I am using a dell Latitude E6540 which has a built in Sim card slot.

I am using the LTE MTN sim card that was provided by Afrihost.

The operating system on the laptop is Windows 10."

Another day passes and I am emailed by Neo who tried to call me but my phone was on silent. He emails me to ask me to double check the APN settings and sents me a link to instructions to verify this. The only problem is that his link does not work. I respond by telling him his link is broken and that I have double checked the APN.

A couple of hours pass, I am contacted by Valentino who sends the most unhelpful email yet. He tells me things like it's possible my sim was never activated for the service (Of course it was I have been using it for years! Check your records before saying such stupid things!) he also says maybe my mobile number could have been reported ******. and he asks for a screenshot of my APN settings.

I send an email with the screenshot and a counter to all his suggestions.

This morning I am emailed byTrust who says:

"I see the status of your mobile package is now pending cancellation
Please feel free to contact us if you have any further queries."

Not heplful at all! There are still 10 days left in this month and I have paid for the service of mobile data. Either refund me or resolve my query.

This is the most useless support team I have ever encountered.
