[URL Removed] used to deceive people
Afrihost has been consistently degrading the quality of internet given to clients. Bad internet is an expected irritant in SA, something we learn to live with, but the real issue here is that Afrihost has intentionally prioritised bandwidth to sites designed to test internet and line performance (such as [URL Removed] The only reason a company would do this is to intentionally mislead people into believing their internet is functioning fine. What it does show however, is that the telkom LINE is functioning fine, and that Afrihost are deliberately shaping accounts (I have a separate pay-as-you-go account with them because it is NOT meant to be shaped). It's one thing being inept, but this behaviour borders on *****. And I really don't care if other SA providers do the same thing. <br> I realise there is not much a customer support person can do here, as it would likely be a company policy to prioritise speed testing traffic, but with enough complaints against SP's that are doing this I hope things might change with time.
We do not prioritize sites. We want our clients to have true and accurate diagnostics when performing tests. Our company policy does not dictate any prioritization of speedtest traffic.
Please feel free to send us any results that you may have questions about to *** and we will gladly look into the matter.
