Unauthorized debit order

I browsed online for a wireless internet service provider as I could not move my Telkom line to my new address. No infrastructure for a Telkom line. I noticed the deal that Afrihost was offering. Free modem on the condition that you use one of their data bundle packages for six months. From 6 months it would move to month to month billing. This sounded like a wonderful package to me so I signed up. I phoned the following day to find out how long delivery will take as I need wifi at home. The consultant that I spoke to advised me that they have no stock of the router that I ordered. She was not sure when they will have stock again. I advised her that I need wifi asap and if this is the case I would rather like to cancel the order as I can't wait until they finally have stock of the router. No indication of a date was given by the consultant. She advised me that she can do the cancellation from her side. I asked her to please do so. Not once did she mention anything about a cancellation fee to me. Do not advertise a service that you cannot deliver on. Later the evening I received an *** cancellation fee. Really? For something you cannot provide me with? I have to pay a cancellation fee for something you advertise so well - but cannot deliver on???? For reals??? I immediately phoned the call centre and explained the story again. The gentleman I spoke to advised me that the cancellation fee invoice will be reversed as they cannot provide me with what I wanted to order. This morning I woke up with a R1000 debited from my account - Afrihost - cancellation fee. Really? It seems that there is no communication between departments or is this perhaps the new "*****" way of making money???? I urge anyone in the market for wireless internet service providers to not use this company. I signed with Web Africa in the meantime and it is all above board and I am very happy with their service. Afrihost is definitely not to be trusted as a service provider!!! Unless you feel like throwing money in the water!
