The Customer is Always Wrong - Afrihost 2017

This seems to be the outlook taken by Afrihost's unhelpful support system. I've tried to contact their customer care department only to be informed that there isn't one. That says alot.

My story;

I paid for a sitebuilder service which included an e-commerce functionality - this means you can sell products and services on a website and give your client's the ability to securely pay for whatever they choose and complete the sale. E-commerce functionality is the core factor for an online store.

A month after paying for the service from Afrihost and struggling to get the site functional( The entire time thinking that i was doing something wrong) i find out that the site was not actually fully activated and that the e-commerce function was never enabled in the first place. Afrihost then prompty enables the service a full 30 days later.

Now here is the icing on the cake; Afrihost "manager" Sheldon tells me that because i didn't know why the site was not functional in it's entirety and subsequently didn't contact them immediately - that i need to bear the cost of this mistake. To think that each and every client is technically inclined enough to troubleshoot website/website builder problems and figure out exactly whats going on and then turn around and fervently blame this on the client is completely absurd

This is service delivery failure on a monumental level and i cannot imagine doing business with Afrihost going forward.

So, to paraphrase; Afrihost delivered a service with it's core-function disabled and acknowledges the mistake a month later, but blames the client for not knowing what the problem was.

Many small battles are fought and lost by the unsuspecting little guy and turns a small injustince into painful inequity.
