Terrible customer service and lack of responsibility.
I started losing connection on the 30th of April 2019. I would have connection for about 10-20 minutes every 2-5 hours or so. After calling the technical department they logged the issue and opened a fault with Telkom. 2 days later, still hearing nothing, I called and they said a technician has been dispatched. When I called Telkom, they said they are waiting for an available technician. This lasted until the 7th of May. Not once during this time did Afrihost call me to update me on the fault or the progress of fixing the fault. Only on the 6th of May did I receive communication from Telkom telling me that a technician has been dispatched. Although according to Afrihost, a technician had been dispatched each time I called them. Also on the 6th of May, I called the accounts department to ask to be credited for the days I did not have stable connection (if one can even call the connection that I had, a connection at all). I was told that the accounts department will confer with the technical department once the issue has been resolved, they will contact me and I will be credited since Afrihost manages my line.
After this ordeal, I sent a complaint to ********** about the poor customer service I received. They still have not rep****. Neither have any of the agents that said they would contact me. Except for Johnno, who helped me on the 6th day of the issue.
No one from the accounts department contacted me. This month, on Friday (7th of June), I called the accounts department and explained the situation. I was told that I would hear feedback soon. Today, 10th of June, I was sent an email saying that I would not be credited as there was connection and data usage, albeit intermittent, they won't credit me. I called the technical department to ask them to look at my account history and the agent I spoke to agreed that I should be credited since I barely had connection. After speaking with his supervisor, I was told that the supervisor agrees with the accounts department and I only experienced the problem for a 'short time' and I still 'managed to use the internet'.
I think this is absolutely disgusting. The lack of customer service, the amount of time sitting basically without internet and the total disregard for inconvenience caused is appalling.
I teach from home. I had to buy data to teach classes, I had to cancel some classes and lose out on money. My salary this month was just enough to get by.
I can only say... imagine if the SAPS only worked intermittently for 10-20 minutes every 2-5 hours, and we complained they weren't working... and then they said that they are, albeit intermittently.
Disgusting.
