I have a domain that I did not want to renew this year which was due to expire on the 14th of Jan 2016. I received an invoice for renewal sometime in November. With 2 months left to the time of renewal I went to the Admin Panel to turn off the auto renew. This option was no longer available.

Afrihost has sent me a sms and an email every day since then demanding R111.00. Really annoyed with the continuos bombardment of sms and email, early in Jan I logged a ticket to resolve the problem and cancel the domain, the call centre was beyond useless and unable to do anything. So, thinking the emails and sms's would cease after the the domain expired on the 14th, I did nothing further. But now I am getting a daily sms and email reminding me my domain has expired, and there is still no way to tell these *****s that I do not want the domain anymore. FFS.

I even contemplated paying the hundred odd rand to just get them to shut up. I am left no choice but to block the numbers and emails.

This is a good example of poor customer management and abuse of system generated correspondence.
I have 2 other domains hosted overseas. Better value, Better offering, helpful, faster to respond.
