****** Device - Impossible to get ITC number!
My tablet was ****** on the 7th of December last year. For the last SIX WEEKS I have been trying to obtain an ITC number from Afrihost (blacklisting of the device) so that I can open a police case report. An ITC number is required for a police case report to be opened. Following almost 30 emails back and forth, as well as many many phone calls, I am yet to have my device blacklisted - a process that should take no longer than a couple of minutes!
I have heard every excuse under the sun: 1) MTN is supposed to handle it (this is emphatically untrue). I have a letter from MTN to prove it - it is Afrihost's responsibility to blacklist a device on behalf of a customer through them, as the 'MTN' contract used by the individual is still registered to Afrihost according to MTN. 2) Then Afrihost suddenly 'learned' the appropriate way of handling the matter (as though I am the first individual to have a device ******), and they sent me the MTN blacklisting form - filled it out, and I was informed that 'MTN closed the ticket and a new one would need to be opened'. 3) I was told the MTN employee previously dealing with Afrihost was suddenly on leave?! 4) A new ticket was apparently opened with the submitted form 5) Suddenly another request made to me for 'the correct IMEI' on a new form - the IMEI was right all along? Screenshots of the registered device IMEI to prove it.
Now following this, no response for almost a week, despite two emails being sent requesting follow-up?
Absolutely Pathetic service from Afrihost. All I wanted was my ****** device to be blacklisted. Now almost two months later, I'm still waiting thanks to gross incompetence and/or terrible customer service!
