Self installation vs free installation

After seeing the ad for WiFi and free instillation, we didn’t hesitate to order this from AfriHost. The modem arrived via Dawn King couriering. I was confused, the ad said it was free installation. I called the call Centre and eventually got through to a very helpful man, who basically said that it’s very easy to instal and I should do it myself .

Why advertise free installation if I have to do it myself? I have no idea where to put it, how to position it, the main reason I went through this company was because of the “free installation “ advertising.

Please assist as to how this can be managed from here as I am sitting with a modem and no WiFi access.
