I am afraid internet service providers are being found out. Afrihost is no exception... The quality of internet leaves nothing to be desired. Since having them provide internet on fibre, we have had shockingly poor, unstable and slow internet. I have upgraded from 20/20 to 50/5 in the HOPE of better quality. Speed as measured by Ookla varies between 0 - 50mbs. Even at 3:am in the morning speed drops to under 1mbs and fails regularly. Afrihost suggest a host of remedies, none of which seesm to work, and all appears to be a simple runaround to make the sutomer 'go away' My favorite is to 'switch the modem on and off'... A complete cop-out. It is NOT the WACS cable fault, sorry. This quality has existed since day 1 in 2018!. I suspect out here in the South of JHB we got the absolute a.. end of infrastructure. As it is, this internet service has now value, its a time waster and a mere curiosity. Good only for Googling the odd query and checking emails.

Give me old school dial-up any day. Telkom style. Anyone using Rain? Any good?
