Poor Service Yet Again
Since Monday 1st July I have been having issues with Afrihost, after moving into my new property, they were not able to connect my line due to various reasons.
Today, I received an email advising that my line is finally active however I haven't received the username and password. I then went ahead and contacted Afrihost for support on this. I Itumeleng M who confirmed that my ID number and full name. This representative also confirms my address.
Shortly after, they tell me I need to contact Vuma Reach for the credentials so that they can complete a migration. I then challenged the representative saying that I will not be doing their job for them as they can liaise with Vuma themselves to get this sorted out. After this, they representative sends me a screenshot of an address which is another customer's address that 27km from where I am. I then told the representative that this is a POPIA breach as they have shared another person's personal information.
The rep then tells me that they are dealing with 5 other clients including myself so they are allowed to make mistakes. ARE ALLOWED TO MAKE MISTAKES?? BY MISHANDLING CUSTOMERS INFORMATION??? I don't think so.
The rep obviously did not understand the severity of this and as a person who is an Compliance and Information Security professional, this is concerning to me that AFRIHOST staff are not educated.
The conversation ended poorly thereafter as I said I want my issue resolved as soon as possible and I will be making a complaint, the rep then responds and says "is this fast enough for you? And A formal complaint for? I do not think you understand how much of confirming I needed to do to be able to propagate this credentials on my end as I have informed you I am liasing with Vuma and our system as well and assisting 5 other clients.
Really Afrihost?? This is the type of people you hire??
This will be going to the Information Regulator as well as the Ombudsman.
