Paying For A Service Not Used

Terrible service. Cancelled my Internet on 11 July, I asked that it be cancelled at the end of July as I have relocated and won't be able to make use of the service no more. Just been billed for August. Asked them them why, they refuse to cancel it until the end of August. So basically they make you pay for something you don't use.
