Pattern of infrastructure failure, double billing, and refusal to escalate
I have been an Afrihost customer and my experience since migrating from Openserve to Vumatel has been a documented pattern of failures that began at installation and has never been resolved. The facts: My migration was incorrectly processed from the start, resulting in double billing that Afrihost acknowledged. Speeds were below contracted levels from day one of installation. I logged a support call during installation because Vumatel was not delivering what I was paying for. I was subjected to extensive technical troubleshooting including an ONT bypass speed test which proved conclusively that my hardware was not the problem. The fault was always on the infrastructure side. I am now experiencing a complete Vumatel OLT outage affecting Veld_en_Vlei_DF16_1_FTTH and Veld_en_Vlei_DF16_2_FTTH with no ETA for resolution. I submitted a formal written complaint requesting migration back to my original Openserve plan at no cost. The support agent assigned to my case (Ref: INC-***) has responded twice with generic outage updates and has not once addressed my formal complaint or provided a path to management escalation. Afrihost has no published complaints department. Their terms funnel all complaints back into the same support queue that is ignoring me. I have formally notified Afrihost that I will be filing with the National Consumer Commission under Section 54 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 if this is not resolved within 5 business days. I am requesting immediate migration back to Openserve at no cost, a full refund of the duplicate migration charge, and a credit for downtime periods.
