No logic - Cancelled ADSL, still being billed for it

I cancelled my ADSL data and line through the phone with Afrihost's account department the moment I got fibre through OpenServe.

They claim that I did not cancel it and are suggesting that I am one of the few strange people that wish to keep an ADSL line for whatever other purposes. That makes no sense.

I've been credited pro-rata for the data in the month of October, and that is correct. I have, however, been kept on being billed for the 4 mbps line that I cancelled with them. They claim that they have to "enquire" with Telkom for the refund, because "somebody has to pay Telkom", even though it was clearly their mistake. I have a telephonic record of all of this.

Gian, the CEO, also failed on numerous occasions to reply to my concerns and complaints that I've had over the past few months, even though he often states that he can be contacted at ********** by anyone with a complaint.

I am now reverting to hellopeter.com to have this settled and to warn others of the poor service of the accounting department of Afrihost. Don't assume your account is cancelled with them - they have on several occasions failed to change or remove the service that I had with them. On one occasion they noticed their mistake and refunded me, but now they are being stubborn about it.

When asked to speak to a superior, I am given snotty answers like "he's not as his desk" - a certain Naicker fellow. When asked to call him for me, it was said that it was "impossible".

Consider changing your ISP to somebody else if you don't want to be billed for unnecessary products! The only reason that I am still with Afrihost is because they are the lesser of two evils - I am continually having problems with my line and they are the only ones that are capable of doing something about that. For that they can get credit, but they are incredibly *********** when it comes to billing!
