No accountability for their poor service
I app**** for uncapped fiber internet in December. Within one day my bank account was verified for a debit order, and no further communication. After two weeks of trying to find updates on my application and getting nowhere, I cancelled my application and received internet from another ISP. Afrihost then proceeded to charge me for the fibre service. After several phone calls and emails, I was told that I have to give a month's notice, even though my fibre line was installed by another ISP and I never received a router or used any data from Afrihost. I am now charged with a R999 cancellation fee for a service I did not receive. One consultant was quite rude and insisted that I cannot cancel my order just because they could not provide any updates or estimated timeline for installation. Once you apply, you are expected to just accept whatever poor service they decide to provide. There is no competitivenes, as your application is seen as a fixed contract. They will charge you without taking any accountabilty for their lack of communication and poor service.
