LACK OF COMMUNICATION
I've attempted to sign up with Afrihost twice now for their R800 85gig LTE package.
The first time I got my router (after about a month of them verifying my payments and then another 2 months and a lot of emails from my side trying to find out why it was taking so long) I had no Internet connection. When we put our cellphone sim cards in we had full connection from the router, so the obvious problem was that the sim card Afrihost had provided us with did not work. I followed up on this until I was blue in the face with none of the agents able to give me an answer as to why I had no Internet connection. What made me even angrier was that they did their monthly debit order even though they were fully aware that I was not receiving the service for which they were charging. I eventually had to resort to reversing and blocking their debit orders before they would finally allow me to cancel my contract (all my attempts to cancel before this were ignored).
The second time around, things seemed to be going a lot better. My payments were verified instantly and everything was on the ball ready to go. Until I received a pro-rata invoice for data that I had apparently used. This wouldn't be a problem if I had actually had the device in my possession at the time. According to my ClientZone account and Afrihost, my device was delivered on the 23rd of February. I contacted Afrihost on the 23rd and advised them that I had not yet received anything and they promised to follow up on matters. The couriers that Afrihost make use of phoned me yesterday (the 27th) to say that they had only received my device yesterday and will be delivering on the 1st of March. In the meantime Afrihost has once again taken money off my bank account for a service I HAVE NOT RECEIVED.
The agent I've been dealing with, Eric M, emailed me this morning that my device had been delivered but that he would once again be 'following up' as to why I had not received it. I could very easily let him know that I had not yet received my device because they had only given it to the couriers yesterday.
My only option I have left is to wait for the device to be delivered so I can send Afrihost the POD and hope matters can be rectified.
Also, aren't the first 3 months supposed to be free according to their website? Why am I being charged for this 'free' service before I have even received said service??
