Inbound Traffic Restrictions on Afrihost Fibre with VumatelReach

New Fibre installed. Vumatel Reach came out installed the line with a built in Huawei ONT/WIFI Router, internet works and speeds are great. Only to find out, I dont have access to the router to change my wifi password or ssid. I dont have access to the router to do simple port forwarding or change my private ip range from the default provided by the device because its all blocked.

I require a open NAT type for gaming, its on strict, I cannt host my own server, run test dev enviroments for work, my Xbox cant connect because the NAT type is set to STRICT and should be on OPEN for best performance, same with my gaming machine. I cant setup inbound port forwarding to remote into or test vpn into my home test server enviroment externally for work purpose because I work from home. All this is limited with Afrihost and VumaReach. Simple things that ADSL can achieve, I cant achieve on Fibre.

Worse part is that I am a Senior Systems Engineer and I have no controll to my own devices, I get told that it cant be done. Give me access so that I can prove you wrong. because it will take me not even 15min to fix what your support and VumaReach support has taken 3 weeks, and they keep escalating it to the heavens and come back with random answers of its not restricted or sorry we dont have access or we resetting the config. NON of this works. This has been the most stressful, the most frustrated few weeks dealing with support from both Afrihost and Vumatel.

All I wanted was for you to get me a ONT or configure this ONT so that its not giving DHCP but just acting as a ONT box with a WAN port with the live public IP so that I can take that and plug it into my firewall and NAT my own traffic, because clearly I am not having any luck with your support.

I even opted to buy a ONT that they can dump a config on so that I plug my own router, dont care for their wireless. But no, they cant do that because, and I quote, "ONT change is not possible unless it got damaged. There is no restriction in it so as to affect working of your network."

The amount of times I swore and screamed at your support teams stupid responses.

Simple Solutiosn: OPTION 1!: 1. Sell me a ONT that is just a ONT and nothing else, Fibre cables goes in, and your system send a public ip and it has a WAN port that gives me a IP with inbound and outbound traffic allowed. SIMPLE.. 2. I plug my firewall / Router into your device. 3. I control my network with my own wireless etc. 4. All my frustrations and problems go away I never have to deal with your support desk ever again, unless the internet completely dies and I am forced to.

OPTION 2!: 1. Give me full admin access to my Huawei device via web interface. 2. I fix it all myself.

OPTION 3!: 1. Get a Senior Network Specialist, who has access to the device to look at my case number #KLL-***3, which has fully scoped detail of what I need done. Get them to call me after they figured out what to do and we do a screen share session to fix it and maybe they can also learn something. 2. I leave a happier and more relaxed client.

Only reason I am resorting to this review is because nobody listens otherwise and I am tired of being messed around.
