I guess its my problem....shrug

Soooo.... I had one request from the Sales team when I spoke to them. Would the courier contact me regarding delivery so we can arrange a time for delivery?? Yes, was the answer I got so I completed my application on Monday.

Tuesday I got an sms to say my device would be delivered today - (Amazing that it could be done so swiftly but like what happened to my phone call to arrange this)

1. I was not at the specified address as I was under the impression I would get a call. 2. I had to then contact the courier to try and arrange something with them as the team over Whatsapp have no capability of doing anything. 3. Contact the couriers who have an incorrect name and contact number on the waybill for me.

Afrihosts position was well we gave them the right information, I must sort this out with the couriers. The couriers can't update any information so I'm stuck at square one and I'm the one losing out. Eventually I have to ask one of the staff to escalate this, because you know (we don't actually offer service we just leave the problem with you because we actually don't give af) - then because this is clearly not important (also not really advised on solid turn around times with regards to anything or any reference provided) I get in contact with support again, and they get a consultant to call me and the warehouse and arrange delivery for either Wednesday or Thursday.

Legit. Gave my new address with building name included, requested to be contacted (on the same number the call centre contacted me on) so that I can meet the courier. Happy days.

I hear nothing on Wednesday until 6.30PM when I get an sms to say my parcel has been delivered! Whoop really?? because am I not waiting on a phone call because I need to be RICA'd.

Thursday morning, I query this with Whatsapp support as I checked with security at our building and nothing was there. The first dude, I spoke to gave me information contradictory to what my order said regarding my package, and then eventually we got the right info and wanted to find out who it was delivered to. Got my reference QXH-***2. I followed up about 2 hours later and I got told it's still with the warehouse and I need to wait for an sms or email regarding an answer to who signed for my delivery.

I get an answer after asking the team on Twitter - because at this point I don't believe that this call centre will follow on any promises made. Apparently after calls to the contact centre there was an issue with my number, which I find weird considering I get phone calls and the contact centre used that number to contact me.

The answer is that in fact it was not delivered, but returned to the warehouse. (So on 2 occasions communication between the warehouse and call centre have provided incorrect information and I'm one that loses out)

Today I call the contact centre as I've been told that the courier will contact me but now, I'm kinda out of time as I need my router so that I can do my work from home on Monday. The Team lead I spoke to was very gracious and lived up to his promise of getting people to contact me, however I had provided an address as I wasn't at the 2nd address provided as they had originally planned to deliver to me because again COVID.

The courier then contacts me and tells me that they on their way to an address where I am not - as per my conversation with the contact centre. Why they wanted to go there who the **** knows. I arrange with people in my office to collect the parcel and I will go collect it from them (because I'm not going to inconvenience someone else after I have been inconvenienced knowing the feeling).

It is now 5.30 and there is still no package at the office, they have not gotten a phone call from the courier as I had provided them with his contact number and now I'm sitting without a router or internet and I've been billed for a delivery that apparently needs a rocket scientist to perform.

Needless to say that the 3rd party in use is pathetic, the accountability (besides the one TL that attempted to help) in the contact centre is pathetic, and at this point in time I need to buy a ton of data so that I can work on Monday. I'm completely dissapointed in what has happened to me and I sincerely hope that this doesn't happen to others.

As someone that works in the service industry - your current structure has no hope, and until you get either an API that provides real time information regarding their deliveries you gonna keep struggling.

I may as well go to another ISP as I will probably receive my router from them before I get the one from Afrihost. GGWP.
