Held Hostage

I couldn't afford my domain any longer. I wanted to delete it in my Client Zone. But some time had passed, and my account had been suspended. Therefore the "delete" button was gone!?!? In effect I was just building up arrears. I wasn't even using the domain.

After realizing that I couldn't delete it, I asked Afrihost to do it. I clearly stated that I didn't want it anymore. I explained my financial predicamemt as well. They point blank refused to assist. "Justin R" was the man's name whom I was dealing with from Afrihost. I was told that until I pay the R236 that was outstanding, that they would not assist!

It took me till yeaterday to save the money to pay the R236. In my client zone it clearly "Amount Outstanding: R236." I clicked the "Settle my account" button and I paid the money. I wanted to book a new domain with them for a new venture.

They had it in writing 2 months ago already that I didn't I didn't the domain. Last night I paid the outstanding amount of R236 to them, because without settling my account I couldn't buy a new domain.

This morning I opened my Afrihost client zone and it said that I owe R336. I couldn't believe it. I'd paid them R236. It said my account was in order. "Then, 12 hours later they're telling me I owe another R336!!!!" That bill wasn't available to see in my client zone the night before when I paid the bill online.

Their argument is: Domain Redemption. I'm not fami**** with it. If I told them in January that I don't want the domian and nor can I afford it anymore, how could they do this?

They could easily see that I was struggling financially because I wasn't making payments. But they nailed me an additional R50 extra every month for late payment. And when I pleaded for them to delete my account they refused. Shocking!

Why am I being charged for something I don't want? One that I requested to be removed. I'm very disappointed. I once loved this company, but it has changed. They're not the same as once before.
