From best ISP in SA to WORST ISP in SA

I cancelled my services on the 3rd of February with Afrihost, and requested that my ADSL line be migrated back to Telkom. A couple of days later I receive a notification that my line has been scheduled for cancellation. I immediately contact Afrihost who says they will ensure that it is not cancelled and merely migrated back to Telkom. After the line is back up, I notice that I can now not sync at 10mbit anymore and the max sync I receive is 4mbit. After further investigation it turns out that my line has been moved to another DSLAM. Who authorized this?

The 2nd of March my line is still not migrated back to Telkom, so a ticket is logged with Afrihost (RUE-***6). Two days later and no reply, I mail again, no reply. One day later I mail again, no reply. Three days later I mail again, no reply. I phone a day later, with a agent promising me someone will respond, no reply. I phone again, with more promises of a reply, guess what no reply. Thus here I am. This is absolutely pathetic, that two weeks into requesting feedback I am still yet to receive a reply. Now sitting with a line that is so atrocious that calling it intermittent is sugar coating it. Thanks afrihost, thanks a lot

Hello chris.za,

We apologise for the delay in the termination of your services.

The request was unfortunately stuck on the system and we apologise for the delay. We had not made a request for a line downgrade as Telkom only processes one request at a time, the cancellation request was the only one we made.

The line will be back with Telkom in the coming 2 - 5 working days. You will then be able to follow up regarding the line speed change. We apologise for the frustration.
You can contact us at *** if you have any further questions.

Regards
The Afrihost Team
