Fibre - What fibre?

On 14 October 2016, I ordered a fibre line from Afrihost, but it is still not working more than five months later. How can Afrihost advertise fibre in my area when it is clearly not available?

The only fibre provider in my area is Telkom. I specifically ordered through Afrihost because I want nothing to do with Telkom as a result of the ********** experiences I have had with them. I thought that Afrihost as a large supplier would be have more influence over Telkom than I would as an individual. Afrihost advertises itself on the basis of its excellent service, so I thought that would be a nice change. Except that all of these assumptions were totally wrong - Afrihost has still not delivered the service I ordered more than five months ago.

I have phoned Afrihost a number of times, and every time I am told that this is extremely poor and unacceptable, and that something will be done. Which obviously has not happend. And when the service centre promised to phone me back, they only did about half the time.

Telkom has been to my house three or four times, but to no avail. The last of their technicians blamed the fibre installer for not completing the system installation. They also arranged to come again twice earlier this year, and just did not arrive. I communicated this to Afrihost, but again, nothing...

I have been extremely patient and understanding, and have waited over five months. But enough is enough. I honestly could not care who is to blame or what the issue is - that is not my problem. Just fix the problem and deliver the service you promised me more than five months ago.

(Additionally, I ordered a modem as part of the same order, only to be almost immediately informed that they were out of stock. If it is not in stock, why list it, and more importantly, accept payment for it?)
