False advertising

I am unbelievably annoyed at your adsl service. I had no problem with my mobile service, this was the main reason why I wanted to have afrihost as an ISP too, but this is beyond unacceptable. After YOU didn't notify me to let me know that the order to convert the fixed line was unable to be processed, I followed up for days. Only to have you pass the buck onto telkom and say that the fault was on their side. This was only resolved after several days of no response from your side. Why could you not have notified your customer of a default in the order that needed resubmission? Where was the customer service?

To add insult to inury - I have been following up almost on a daily basis about the progress of the line conversion. To which I was notified time after time that telkom has not completed the conversion, in my ignorance - I believed you.

Yesterday finally I get told that I can try using the Internet, yay! Only to find my average download speed was 0.07mb/s. After 5 emails to the so called "24 hour afrihost support service", yes, you guessed it - no response. I got a reply almost 10 hours after the initial request.

So why do you advertise 24 hour support?

After all this, I am eventually told that they are "liasing with a telkom manager" as telkom has not "completed the order". It took me one call to telkom to find out that their system has not released the order as completed, as she will now move it from pending to released. On top of that, the line has been fulling converted since the 18th of July. All that was needed was to contact telkom and have it released. My problem is why do you advertise that you will take the hassle of dealing with telkom on the customers behalf when you don't? If telkom was really contacted surely you would have known that the conversion was complete and that it just needed to be released.

Anyway, I'm glad I now did your job for you. I hope to have interenet in 24 - 72 hours. If only I had done this sooner, perhaps I would have been able to get that windows 10 update that you advertised. Thanks afrihost, thanks.

#falseadvertising??
