Don't trust them at all, they will rinse you.

I signed up for Afrihost Fibre in June 2017. I got a free router and installation, and they installed it in December.

I got such terrible speeds and line problems that I cancelled during the first month. They billed me for the cancellation fee immediately, but when I spoke to them and said how disappointed I was I actually got refunded for that (after a long struggle). I was satisfied and everything was settled.

Here's where it gets strange. When I wanted to switch to a different provider, I couldn't. They just would not release my line from Vumatel, I phoned numerous times and e-mailed even more times. But there was a duplicate work order that they just wouldn't remove for me. So I was without Fibre and it seemed there was nothing I could do about it. I eventually gave up and moved in with my sister to use her internet.

Six months later in July I got debited suddenly for R780. I've had many phone conversations with them now and was told that my refund is being processed and should be in my account within 14 days. I followed up now, and they say there's no refund being processed. I just don't know what to do anymore. Having to pay a cancellation fee because they took a duplicate work order off my line (which was never activated) doesn't seem fair. And if they say this is for the router that I got from them last July, then it's also not right that they suddenly want the money back for it now.

I haven't had anything to do with Afrihost for 7 months and I feel that I have suffered enough not being able to get a different service provider with the fibre line I waited for so long.

I actually just wish they could have been honest with me. I was relying on the refund that they said was being processed. Now I just feel extremely cheated by this company.
