Do not expect your RAIN LTE Huawei B618 router from Afrihost for at least another 8 weeks!!!

I am so fed up with Afrihost at the moment. I went to Afrihost in person on 10 October 2017 to place an order for RAIN LTE. I chose the Huawei B618 router which they at that time offered free with the service. Why did I drive to Afrihost? Because the hold times on the phone was nearing 1 hour! What disgusted me when I got to Afrihost, was that nobody was working. Nearly the whole office was standing outside smoking on the lawn. Only a handful of non-smokers were actually working...

Anyway, I was informed of a stock shortage of the router and told I will probably receive the router in about a week's time. I phoned Afrihost again, last week Wednesday, to find out what's going on. The helpdesk person phoned their supplier (which they claimed is Digital Planet) and I was told they would be receiving stock last Friday, 20 October 2017.

On Friday, I however receive another e-mail from Afrihost telling me there is still a stock shortage and I will have to wait approx another week. It's now been exactly two weeks already.

I phoned Afrihost again this morning and spoke with George (in accounts), who was going to get some info for me and get back to me. BTW this was after he wanted to give me Digital Planet's number so that I could follow it up with them directly. Nice way of passing the buck and showing that you are not interested... He never phoned back.

I then phoned again and spoke to Esona in Sales, who also told me simply that there is no stock. I insisted to talk to her manager, so she transferred me to her supervisor - Thulani. He told me outright that I would have to wait another 8 weeks (2 months) for the router to be delivered. I am now waiting for Mark - his manager to phone me.

I understand that there is a stock shortage, but Afrihost is blatantly lying to their customers. Either that or even worse, they don't know what they are doing and can't give a damn. Their website still says "Victim of it's own success" when you go to the RAIN LTE with B618 router page. They now want to supply the cheaper and much lower spec Huawei B315. I don't want the B315 and will probably have to wait until next year to get the B618.
