Dissapointment in Afrihost.
I am VERY unhappy with afrihost. I have been a victim of FALSE advertising. I was promised by 2 sales advisors 2 months free (NOT up to 2 months free) and free instalation. Once everything was installed I was charged for the instalation and billed for the first month. I was then emailed with a threat of suspension.
I called the accounts department, after trying so many times. I let the accounts lady know what happened, she promised to check the call log and listen in what was said to me. She promised to get back to me, She did, she apologized to me for the false advertising, for been billed after and the threat of suspension.
She then promised that I would NOT be paying for the next to months and for the instalation.
3 weeks later I was threatened with suspension again. I work from home so my internet is my sauce of income. I then called the accounts department again, got through to someone called Richard, explained my story to Richard, Richard said he'd too call me back. He did, and said also apologized and made sure my internet was up again.
A week after I got mail treats with suspension AGAIN! I picked up the phone and called Richard, thinking he was on the same page with me.
Richard then changed he's entire story. Acting as if he doesn't know what has been happening, After I explained my story with him again, and he stuck to he's, responding to me like I'm dumb.
I have now gotten nowhere. I have never gone through so much back and forths with the same situation and getting promised something that does not get delivered. I am very dissapointed. I have never gone through this with any other internet service company.
I have hear that they've done this to many people before.
I was promised 2 months free, that's what I budgeted for, that's why I followed through with Afrihost, it sounded like I was going to get more out of this internet server then the others that were potential servers. I work from home, the internet is how I make my income and now I am not able to do so, so I am loosing out on money and work. Which upsets me even more then being conned. They sold me on something they are not willing to see through. And that is not business.
I had heard from a friend that they had done the same to him, but he doesn't have enough fight in him to fight for what he deserves so he ended up paying from the start. It's dissapinting to think about how many people they have potentially done this too that do not have the fight that my friend doesn't have and how they have been taken advantage of.
The call ended with me wanted to say something more and Wendy saying bye and putting the phone down in my face.
