I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Afrihost, and I must say that it was far from satisfactory. The delayed installation process was the first red flag, as I patiently waited for what felt like an eternity to get connected. The lack of transparency and communication regarding the installation timeframe only added to the frustration.
What irked me even more was the exorbitant R996.00 installation fee that Afrihost charged, a fee not imposed by Frog Foot, which raises questions about the fairness and reasonability of Afrihost's pricing structure. The unexpected financial burden, combined with the delayed service, left a bitter taste in my mouth.
To add insult to injury, the promised free router never materialized. It's disheartening to see a company fail to deliver on its commitments, especially when these offerings are often used as incentives to attract customers. Afrihost's failure to provide the agreed-upon equipment only underscores the lack of reliability and professionalism in their service.
Furthermore, the quality of customer service at Afrihost was abysmal. The majority of my interactions with their call center agents were frustrating, to say the least. It felt like dealing with individuals who lacked the necessary training and knowledge to address customer concerns effectively. The overall experience left me with a sense of dissatisfaction and a lingering doubt about the competence of Afrihost's support team.
In light of these issues, I would strongly advise any potential customers to explore alternative internet service providers before considering Afrihost. My recommendation is to treat Afrihost as a last resort, as the combination of delayed installations, questionable fees, undelivered promises, and poor customer service make for an overall unsatisfactory and frustrating experience. Save yourself the hassle and seek out a more reliable ISP that values its customers and delivers on its promises.
