Cancellation Fee Payable due to relocation??
We switched over to Afrihost about 2 months ago everything was great! Then we heard we are going to move we were very excited a new beginning in a new place. We called afrihost to ask them about the movement of our Fibre as we were very happy clients and we wanted them to install in our new home. We were advised that because the service provider has changed from open Serve to Vuma we need to cancel our current contract and need to reapply. We asked what will that cost be as we wanted to be prepared for all cost when we move to cover everything. We were informed that we need to pay for the installation again as the service providers changes. Okay fair enough we can understand that it is plus minus R1500 we kept the money aside we called again to find out if this was the only amount that will be involved and we also asked what do we take with etc. Yesterday my husband gets an invoice from Afrihost for R1000 cancellation fee???? Because we cancelled the contract within 6 months???? We are not cancelling we just moved premises? We already paid for installation again in less than 3 months and now on top of that we also need to pay R1000 cancellation fee?? This is not fair and worst than that no one ever warned us about this in our 3 phone calls with them. How can you expect a client to pay a cancellation fee when we are not cancelling but relocating and we cancelled based on what you guys told us we should do???? This is not fair at all and I would like to be contacted by senior management regarding this fee
