Broken Promises, Rude Service, No Delivery
I ordered a fibre package from Afrihost on 14 August, with the assurance from their agents that it would be delivered and installed by 20 August. They also promised an easy migration from my old ISP before my current package ends on 30 August. On top of that, I was told Afrihost could activate service immediately using a second port on my ONT, which convinced me to sign up.
Fast forward almost two weeks later, and still nothing. The Afrihost app just says there’s a “delay”. When I called to follow up, one customer service agent was extremely rude, talking over me and claiming I had been emailed on 14 August explaining why my fibre couldn’t be installed. I checked and I received no such email, only a “your fibre is on the way” message. When I pressed her for details, she refused to answer properly and kept dismissing me.
I hung up and called again. This time another agent admitted that yes, a new port can be used, and promised to send me transcripts of my calls with Afrihost since July and to phone me back within minutes to confirm my order. Six hours later, no follow-up, no transcripts, no fibre.
I’ve been an Afrihost LTE client for over a year and expected better. Instead, I’ve wasted time and money, been misled by different agents giving contradictory information, and treated with rudeness when I tried to get answers. My old fibre ISP contract is ending in couple days, and Afrihost has completely failed to deliver on their promises.
This is unacceptable. I will be cancelling my LTE with Afrihost as well I cannot trust a company that lies, fails to deliver, and treats loyal customers with such disrespect.
