Beyond useless

Pathetic service. This is the second time I had to deal with fibre issues down here in George and I can honestly say they are ***********. My mom has now been without internet for almost a month.

I told them to get Openserve out there might be an issue with their fibre router. I even sent photos where you could see the lan ports aren’t connecting. I had to troubleshoot EVERYTHING myself and drive to my mom’s place each time. Eventually after they said nothing is wrong on Openserves side, it must be the Afrihost router and we must fill in a form to replace it. Thank goodness I just took it in to be tested to find that there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. So it is indeed the fibre router from Openserve. But again after escalation 48 hours later. Not a peep from them. I have to babysit my phone all day just to find it’s a spam number and not someone from Afrihost or Openserve that actually gives a damn that it’s now three weeks later.

I have been with Afrihost since forever, but after these two insanity inducing experiences in a row I think it’s time to move, they obviously have too much money and clients now to give a ****.

Lol you see, no one even bothered to reply here. They have become so arrogant it’s worse than dealing with Telkom 10 years ago.

Stay away. I see a lot of people feel the same. They and Openserve is a match made in hell these days.

I found this now from 2023 on my broadband. This guys sums it up perfectly. And like me he has been with Afrihost for more than a decade, but I agree, they are now like a glorified call centre. Save your sanity and try a smaller provider.

“Thanks @Afrigirl but its to late I have now cancelled my service with Afrihost and opened up with Vodacom again. Your whatsapp helpline is flippen joke and your email support as well. How is it that you can help but none of the support staff seem to know what can be done or cant. Always the same after every request please tell us which lights you see on your router and ONT. Never again will I use Afrihost, I am also in the process of moving all my hosting packages to a new provider. You guys became too big too quickly so now long gone are the days where I could phone in talk to a person and have solution within minutes. You guys might have great product performance but when things go wrong its an absolute nightmare navigating towards a solution. Gian can take his personal emails somewhere else its all a joke!”
