Beware of Afrihost!

For the past four nights my 100 Mbps fibre connection has either been extremely slow or completely non existent. Most of the time we cannot even connect after 7pm. DNS server can't be found / not responding is a common failure notice.

Support tickets are either ignored or responded to with a generic list of things to try. Total disinterest from most of the respondents who clearly hadn't even bothered to read what I had written.

One ticket was apparently escalated to Vumatel, but nothing has transpired since.

The connection works perfectly during the day which leads me to suspect the node is grossly oversubscribed and that is why Afrihost can't/won't attend to the problem.

Stay away from this provider if you live in Cape Town's northern suburbs. You have been warned.
