Bad service

My adsl line was fine for 2 years on 2Mb. The last 3 months the line keeps dropping to 1.5Mb or to 1mb. The excuse is that I'm the far from exchange but why only now if it was OK for 2 years. Why can't they fix my line. I pay afrihost to manage my line but they are not doing anything about it.
