Awful customer service

To start off, last year my credit card details changed and I, like a good little client, went onto the app and changed my details, specifically in time for the payments to go through on the new card.

It didn’t, because for some reason the app does not sync with your client zone account. So, while I changed my details on the app, it retained the old details on client zone. When I finally got that sorted out, by myself I might add, because Afrishost took more than four days to respond to my support request. After which the guy who rep**** to my request was all blasé:

“Oh, well looks like it’s now sorted out. Good for you”.

Then, two weeks ago my whole purse was ****** along with my phone and iPad.

I contact Afrihost and report that my sim’s been ****** and the guy on Live chat tells me that he can’t find his supervisor now to do the move of my data from my ****** sim to my sim swapped one, but he’s sure his supervisor will do it when he has time.

So of course the supervisor doesn’t do it, necessitating me to go on Live chat again and make the request again. This time, finally, the supervisor does it and I go away, happy customer.

Except of course not! Because, while I’m supposed to have around 5 gb of data on my phone, suddenly my data runs out. So once again I’m back on Live chat and speaking to a guy again, who tells me that Afrihost isn’t experiencing any interrupting of mobile data services, so it must be mine. Again I request a fix and finally, finally it’s fixed as it should be!

But wait, there’s more!

Then, of course, I need my iPad blacklisted and because Afrihost is my service provider (through MTN) I contact them. I get a million different stories from people:

The woman in the call centre says they can do it and she sends my details through to their critical care centre

But when I contact someone from Live chat, he tells me to go through support@afrihost and another employee.

The above employee tells me: Oh no, they can’t do blacklisting for iPads. So I reply and ask - I think very reasonably - why not? Because I have seen threads on the internet where they did in fact blacklist an iPad and my friend who had one ****** last year had hers blacklisted through Vodacom. But of course, this employee does not see fit to respond to my email, because apparently this is a taboo question to ask.

Now, I’ve sent a mail to support again, asking them to please respond to my query for either an ITC number or a letter stating why they cannot provide an ITC number, but true to form, Afrihost has still not responded.
