Are they bigger than Consumers?

In March 2020 I went on my client-zone to initiate payment for my domain, in which their system doesn't allow, I then initiated a chat with them I was given EFT details that I used to pay for my services. however an admin fee of R5 was added and in which was written off at a later stage because the payment was made already.

On the 1st of April I payed for my services through EFT as I did the previous month, I then received a notification said I owe Afrihost R20. I then contacted them through email asking them for clarity I was advised it was an admin fee for return debit. I then contacted them through whatsapp and I was advised to contact accounts on a certain number in which I did today. I spoke to a lady who seemed friendly in the beginning.

She explained to me how they work. I was told Afrihost doesn't accept EFT payments but I have paid through EFT Twice already to this account number supp**** by afrihost. Create a payment to Afrihost Bank Account : Standard Bank Account Number:*** Branch Code: 051001 Account Type : Business Current Account *** Amount: There after I was told that the EFT is only for Annual or Biannual payments, that was not disclosed to me last month. I stated that I’ve made payments through EFT twice now so I accepted that I’ll go through biannual payment it’s not a big deal as long as I have control on how I make payments. As I’m on a call I received an email stating that My account is suspended, "An amount of R 89.00 is outstanding. Your account has been suspended! We have not received your full settlement using valid payment methods in ClientZone. As a result, all services relating to the failed payment have been suspended*. " I then told the lady that was assisting me about it. she then made me aware of admin fee structure they have, first attempt R5 second attempt R20 third attempt R30 and so on. and I should have read the terms and conditions because they don't have any other methods of payment of payment except debit order and it is ethical and in line with CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT.

I then asked her now that we have a solution to this issue I’m having and accepted the biannual EFT method what’s the way forward because I have paid my services through the method that was previously advised by Afrihost representative on certain communication platforms what do we do, I can’t pay for this month twice when I pay for the biannual agreement.

She then advised that shell speak to her supervisor I must hold the line. Few minutes later she came back on the line telling me that the supervisor highlighted that they have written off the R5 admin costs from last month this time I have no other option but to pay for it and as I was about to raise my point I was cut off the line with no solution.

Why does afrihost only use methods that allow them to be in control of how they receive the funds and not give consumers an options that suits them for monthly payments. Like other providers why charge admin fees before 7 days?

My Question was then what happens to my Biannual method of payment I had agreed on. I an not paying For R20 or R89 as I’ve paid for this month.
