Afrihost.com
This company offers a product at a very good rate... Because they aren't very good at support. I initially only used the data service they offered at a reduced rate, month to month. As it happened I missed a payment due to a change in banking. I chose not to continue with the service and Afrihost cancelled my data, which I fully agreed with. I have 2 domains with Afrihost. I selected to continue with these services as they were not on the same account. And moving them is actually quite difficult as I experienced when moving the one domain to Afrihost. I actually had different accounts for each of the services and was debited separately for each service which makes things even more complicated to understand. Afrihost is not efficient at sending communication or accounts as each communication would go to an email that they have forced me to select as the account email, but which is totally unrelated to the business with them. And each account has to be a different 3rd party email address. This means Afrihost send communication to 3 different mail addresses. When they do. So at this point it seems none of the accounts are related or connected in the least. However I have since learnt that this is in fact not the case. Afrihast has disabled my domain accounts on client zone, even though the payments to these accounts are up to date. The reason being that there is apparently an amount outstanding on the data account, which was cancelled 5 months ago. The amount far exceeds any package I recall taking with them and which I never used in any event. No communication was sent to query the outstanding amount. However my business domains have been put at risk even though Afrihost has received full value for them. Further to that, they are not taking phone calls during lockdown, directing callers to a whatsapp number which has not been attended to for 40 minutes. My suggestion would be to rather find a provider that charges a bit more but can provide proper accountability. I am using rain for DATA and find them cheaper and more efficient. The domain is a problem but I will be moving that to a more professional outfit in the immediate future.
