Afrihost unreliable

Have beeb using the Fixed Wireless service for the last 2 years without a problem. last 2 weeks the service has been intermittent and extremely poor. Call centre only takes you the through the motions of doing a speed test which always results in speeds less than 5Kb - if there is ANY signal. Then I'm expected to use a cable between my router and my laptop ? So am I expected to also plug a cable into the IPad, the TV box, and the other devices being used. The problem is the service in the area ! All the hardware cannot be at fault at the same time and then start working properly again at the same time ?
