Afrihost is up to their same old disgraceful practices again. After receiving the worst customer service I have ever received for a promised internet service, Afrihost could not supply. It seems nothing has changed in this company. After numerous emails, including to the CEO,and many calls that took approximately 4 hours of my life, it took Afrihost over a month to refund me for a service I could not get signal for. So after eventually getting refunded and cancelling my account, they suddenly debit R999 for a cancellation fee. So Afrihost admittedly and knowingly opens client accounts in areas where they no longer get support from Cell C then charge the client a cancellation fee because they couldn't provide the service they promised and conned you into. From all the poor reviews on Hello Peter it seems clear that afrihost use this tactic to bank clients funds while earning interest as they use incredible delay tactics to refund the person. They make it so difficult that Im sure many people give up and let them keep the money as I almost have. This is however a matter of principle and people need to be aware of this before entering into any contract with this despicable company. I am of the opinion that this is deliberate and perhaps need to be investigated by the likes of Carte Blanche
