Afrihost- the worst service provider in South Africa.
Never in my life have I ever come across a company as *********, sly, deceiving and just out right pathetic as I have with Afrihost and if I could give then less than one star I would. They deserve to be on a negative spectrum.
I have mever come across a company with more *********** staff than Afrihost and each ' technician' is more useless than the next. I dont know if they all have to attend a course to be so utterly useless and ***********.
For months on end we have phoned, live chatted, emailed and whatsapped the same fault in. Almost daily. Some days we don't even bother as we know it's a waste of our energy.
We have a 4mb premium package with Afrihost. Which means we pay R200 more than the normal standard 4mb package. It is suppose to be unmetered and only semi- shaped.
This is afrihosts policy on the premium package;
'Premium Uncapped packages are not subject to throttling or monthly thresholds, and will enjoy full speed real-time services under all normal circumstances, but will be subject to the shaping of downloads when there is a high demand on the network'
We dont download at all. We stream everything online and use the internet for work purposes.
Yet EVERY SINGLE DAY, after 8pm you can bet your last bottom dollar that our internet speed will drop to below 1Mb. so slow that it takes over 10 minutes to do a simple speed test I take a photo, send it off to Afrihost and every time I am met with the same copy-paste response.or told that they have done a port reset, I must please restart my router or that they have logged a fault, to which I have never recieved a call.
No one has ever bothered to actually check the problem and I am more than 100% sure it is because they are fully aware that Afrihost is throttling the **** out of their clients. Conveniently after hours when no one can call it in. And it's always magically restored by the next morning.
Funny how everyone is .complaiming and experiencing the same problem of slow speeds and intermittent internet and at the same timds and how it mahically fixes itself in the morning and reappears round about the same time, every single night? We as customers are not idiotd and we are definitely on to what Afrihost is doing.
I dont buy their bull**** excuses and I believe they are blatantly in breach of their own terms and conditions.
We unfortunately had no choice but to grin and bare it fot so long unntil we could find another service provider and unfortunately where we live, fibre is not available and the wireless service providers that already exist are out of our range. Fortubatelly we should be live by December and can finally switch. We havecancelled our services with them as we would rather sit without internet for 2 months than pay a cent more to Afrihost.
The awfull part is having paid close to R700 a month for a service that should have actually costed a lot less as we basically had the standard package with the level of service we received. But Afrihost couldn't be bothered. As long as their debit order goes off, they could not be bothered.
I hope everyone even considering Afrihost goes through complains posted on their Facebook page. There is a reason that they dont have a review option. I strongly advise to stay as far away from them as possible.
Afrihost was brilliant when they first started, but unfortunately they have been on a fast paced downward spiral over the last 2 years and not only is the connection up to **** but so is their customer service. Their only concern is money.
